Exterior metal sign for sports facilities and public spaces

Description

Exterior signage is a key element in identifying public facilities, sports grounds, companies and urban spaces. Beyond its informative role, a well-designed metal sign reinforces the visual identity of the place and is built to withstand the weather for many years.

Making it to measure means the dimensions, materials, finishes and graphic design can all be adapted to the project, resulting in a one-off piece that combines function, durability and visual quality.

The project

This project produced a large metal sign, 3 metres wide by 1.5 metres high, to identify a municipal football ground.

The main structure was made from 3 mm steel sheet, with the lettering and graphic elements laser cut and the edges folded to add rigidity and a clean finish. A second 1 mm steel sheet was added behind it, creating a continuous background that makes the cut-out stand out and gives a sense of depth.

To reinforce that contrast, the outer face was painted in a corten finish while the inner sheet was lacquered in a light beige, so the name of the ground reads clearly both in daylight and from a distance.

The result is a robust, elegant sign built for permanent outdoor use.
